Lovest thou Me more than These?‏

This past Tuesday, all the missionaries in the "southern half" of the mission met in Hattiesburg and we had a Zone Conference with the Zwick's!
I got to see Sister McGrath and Sister Dagupan from the Brownlee days and it was such a sweet reuniting! I love these girls and they will always be my sisters!!!!

It was an amazing Zone Conference and I learned a lot.
President McDonough (my mission president) talked about how in John 21, Christ says to Peter
"Lovest thou me more than these?" (referring to the fish they had just eaten)

Peter says he does...
But Christ says "Then feed my sheep"

President McDonough asked what are some "THESE" that keep us from coming closer to the savior?
He asked us to commit to give something up, so that we can increase our spirituality.

Sister Zwick shared some powerful stories of the power of prayer.

Elder Zwick taught us that P-days = spiritual preparation, not a day to wind down and relax but spiritually prepare for the upcoming week. He promised if we would teach 2 lessons every Monday, even though it is our day to get everything done we need to.... our baptisms would DOUBLE!

He talked about the constant need to improve our selves by using the Atonement, sanctifying ourselves, and becoming like the Savoir.

He also told us that missionaries will be getting iPads in 40-60 days! These are going to be a great missionary tool for us and I am so excited!

We went to this cool place called "The Shed" for our district lunch this week. Every week we get together with the other missionaries in our district to talk about how the missionary work is going, and to feed off of each other's testimonies.
I was trying to get one of my classic jumping photos and have to include Elder Tonge photo-bombing my picture, but it turned out pretty sweet :)

I love driving through the coast! Sister Nielson and I took some pictures by the shrimp boats.

This morning during my personal study, I was studying about Evidences of the Book of Mormon.
There are lots of evidences to the book of mormon... if you want to study more about that, look here ---->
or here ----->

But what my conclusion came to, is that we have to gain a SPIRITUAL testimony of the Book of Mormon. It is a Book of Scripture, a Book from God.
We have to actually read the scriptures with REAL INTENT if we are to receive a true answer from Heavenly Father.
Nothing can ever PROVE the scriptures are true or not.

It makes me think of when Christ is resurrected and Thomas hears that his Lord has risen. But he says that he won't believe it until he feels the prints in his hands... he was doubtful that it was true!

Christ in John chapter 20
27 Then saith he to Thomas, Reach hither thy finger, and behold my hands; and reach hither thy hand, and thrust it into my side: and be not faithless, but believing.
28 And Thomas answered and said unto him, My Lord and my God.
29 Jesus saith unto him, Thomas, because thou hast seen me, thou hast believed: blessed are they that have not seen, and yet have believed.
here is a link to a video depicting this scene.---->
30 ¶And many other signs truly did Jesus in the presence of his disciples, which are not written in this book:
31 But these are written, that ye might believe that Jesus is the Christ, the Son of God; and that believing ye might have life through his name.
I wanted to include these last 2 verses from this chapter in John because I love it.
We are told that there were many other things that Christ did, many other miracles that he performed!
We are so lucky to have the Book of Mormon, Another Testament to the glory of Christ.

Well that is it for my update this week.
May we continue to study the scriptures and learn from Christ's example.

Love, Sister Brown
